On the afternoon of the 26th, the conference was officially kicked off.  Within the two days, seven keynote speakers addressed the relevant issues from different perspectives such as “What research in older adults tells us about sports for young children”, “Minds in motion: the activate test of embodied cognition (ATEC)”、 “Noteworthy points on physical education instructions for young children”, “the challenges and strategies for assessing children's motor skills and patterns”, “Body movement and play for the children with autism spectrum or the mentally handicapped kids” and “The development of physical activities and sport in China’s kindergartens in the 21st century”.

In addition to the keynote speeches, breakout presentations, panel dialogue and poster presentations, which involved 42 scholars, were staged to examine the current situation of sports development, physical fitness assessment and various innovative physical activities for young children.

During the congress, the participants got the chance to tour around the beautiful campus of Springfield College, visit the Spingfield’s Developmental Center for Young Children, and observe the physical education classes for Young Children at Home School to get a glance at the US practice of sports for young kids.

With rich academic achievements, diverse social activities and a warm atmosphere, the conference provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas about the growth of young children, the development of children's sports and future trends in this field.

The First World Congress of the International Association of Sport and Play for Young Children has become the past. We look forward to seeing you at the 2019 World Congress of IASAPYC in Shanghai!
