2019 The Second World Congress of the International Association of Sport and Play for Young Children was Successfully Held

On October 26-27, 2019, the second World Congress of the International Association of Sports and Play for Young Children(IASAPYC) was congress held in the School of Physical Education and Health of East China Normal University. With the theme of "Creative Physical Activity and Healthy Development of Children", the congress aims to improve the level of physical activity of children, promote the healthy development of children, facilitate high-quality sports research for children, and provide a global platform for cultural and academic exchanges of sports for children. This congress is sponsored by the International Association of Sport and Play for Young Children(IASAPYC) and undertaken by the school of Physical Education and Health of East China Normal University. More than 400 researchers from many countries who care about children’s sports have attended the congress.

Six Professors has made the keynote speeches during the Congress. They are Wang Kaizhen from the Capital Institute of Physical Education, China; Dale Allen URICH from the Kinesiology department of the University of Michigan, the US; Thaddeus Joseph FRANCE III from Springfield College, the US; Dong Jinxia from the Department of Physical Education of Peking University, China; Kylie HESKETH from the Physical Education and Nutrition Research Institute of Deakin University, Australia;Veronica García TORRENT from  Argentina's Children Fund,  Argentina.

With rich academic achievements, diverse social activities and a warm atmosphere, the conference provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas about the growth of young children, the development of children's sports and future trends in this field. Ten major topics were under discussion by the participants of the Congress. They are“policy on physical activity and sport for young children”, “physical education curriculum and teaching method for young children”, “motor skills and healthy growth of young children”, “relationship between young children’s game and cognition and emotional development”, “theory and research on physical activity and sport for young children”, “sport space and environment for young children”, “safety and risk management for young children’s play”, “training for physical education teachers and caretakers”, “effect of artificial intelligence and big data on young children’s play and sport”, “assessment and criteria for physical activity and sport of young children”.

The second World Congress of the International Association of Sports and Play for Young Children(IASAPYC) had a perfect ending. Let's meet at the third IASAPYC Congress next year.
