Announcement and Call for Abstracts for IASAPYC's 3rd World Congress

Summer, 2022 (Hokkaido, Japan; the exact date to be determined)

 

Sports and play are widely acknowledged to be crucial for young children's healthy development and have attracted increasing attention from academic, business and sports communities. Thus, the International Association of Sport and Play for Young Children (IASAPYC) will organize its third world congress in the Faculty of Education, Hokkaido University of Education (Iwamizawa Campus), Hokkaido, Japan.

 

Under the Theme “Threats and Opportunities of the Global Environment for Young Children’s Physical Activity, Game, Exercise and Sport”, the Congress aims at exploring trends, opportunities, challenges and strengths of young children’s physical and mental health development globally. The conference aims to provide a platform for cultural and academic exchanges at a global scale.

 

The Congress will consist of plenary presentationspanel discussionssub-theme presentationsposters, workshops and demonstrations including site visits to local kindergartens in Hokkaido. The Congress language will be in English and Japanese translation will be provided for the keynote speeches.  

 

Experts and scholars are welcome to register and submit abstracts to the Congress within the following areas:

1) Global socio-political and natural environmental changes and their impacts on young children’s sport, play and health.

2) Impact of technology (virtual reality, animated reality, artificial intelligence) on physical activity and sport for young children

3) Big data on young children's play and sport

4) Physical education curriculum and teaching methods for young children

5) Professional training and accreditation for physical education teachers and caretakers for young children

6) Physical fitness and motor skills of young children

7) Relationships between cognitive, emotional and physical development of young children

8) Safety and risk management for young children's play and sport

9) Test and measurement of physical activity and sport for young children

10) Impact of Education and public health policies on young children’s physical development

11) Other related issues

Deadline for the abstract submission is March 31, 2022. The length of the abstract is maximum 300 words in English. Please email your abstract to: iasapyc@126.com. The organizing committee of the Congress will invite international experts in the field to evaluate the submitted abstracts and announce the names of oral and poster presenters by May 31, 2022.
